“Such things are never forgotten. Therefore, when we say that Roman Shukhevych participated in retaliatory actions not only against Jews, Poles and Russian, but against those as well who was fighting against the Nazis, we cannot accept it easily. How do you imagine that: Shukhevych was killing civilians, fought against the Red Army that was combating and finally won over fascism, while we, the Jews, will be keeping be silent today?” asked the KEROOR representative.

“Joseph Lapid, the Yad Vashem Memorial director, made the announcement that the museum disposes has an extensive dossier confirming participation of Shukhevych and the people he led in massacres in Lvov and in other cities. Only one thing is needed to publish them, it is an official statement of the Ukrainian leadership. If there are Ukrainian journalists here then let them ask the Ukrainian leadership why there is no such inquiry,” Pliss said.
